HUMANS AGAINST MUSIC
Hippie New Year! Is it 2008 already? Bill C. is out this month taking a CPR class, so welcome back
Empresario Kraoky Song. Sing low and win big at Freddy's!
This month HAM celebrates the life and music of
Dan Fogelberg with our 2-song tribute
"LONGER DAN". You may recall some of his later work from albums such as "The Very Best of Dan Fogelberg" (2001), "Fogelberg's Greatest Hits" (1982), "The Essential Dan Fogelberg" (2003) and "Portrait: The Music of Dan Fogelberg" (1997).
Often confused with other soft-rock greats like Harry Chapin, James Messina, Kenny Loggins, James Taylor, and even sad siren Joni Mitchel, Fogelberg came into his own with songs such as "Same Old Lang Syne" and signature prom favorite "Longer (Than)".
Daniel Grayling Fogelberg passed away last December 2007 after years of coping with advanced prostate cancer. He was born on August 13, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois, the younger of two borthers. His father, Lawrence, was a World War II veteran who worked as a band leader for both Woodruff 1945-1955 and Pekin 1956-1976 High Schools and Bradley University. His mother, Margaret, was a classically-trained pianist from Scotland. As an avid downhill skierm outdoorsman, and sailor, nature served to inspire his music. He built a full recording studio in Maine known as "Mountain Bird Studio" in the late 80's where he recorded his last two albums "River Of Souls" (1993) and "No Resemblance Whatsoever" (1995).
